The deepest needs of our hearts can only be met by God. No man made gadget can fill the vacuum in our hearts, than God can or will. If you keep trying to meet your deepest needs through your own efforts, you will burn out into despair. My good friend, this is not the way Jesus satisfy our emotional, spiritual or physical needs. If we don’t trust Jesus Christ actively daily, to meet our deepest needs in life, we automatically transfer our needs upon others; your spouse, friends, family and the world system to cushion us. It’s neither safe nor wise to rely on what has failed men miserably through history.
The greatest failure to mankind search for happiness has been “self sitting on the throne“ of our lives. Reliance on temporal solutions and momentarily self aggrandizing pills of men for eternal answer is a serious epidemic which has gain inroad into the Church of Jesus Christ. The Bible calls it the arm of the flesh; it causes men’s whose heart has turned from the Lord to become like a shrub in the desert. No hope and full of despair!!
God warn the Israelites through His servant… Jeremiah 17:5-9 (NET) 5 The Lord says, “I will put a curse on people who trust in mere human beings, who depend on mere flesh and blood for their strength, and whose hearts have turned away from the Lord. 6 They will be like a shrub in the desert. They will not experience good things even when they happen. It will be as though they were growing in the desert, in a salt land where no one can live. 7 My blessing is on those people who trust in me, who put their confidence in me. 8 They will be like a tree planted near a stream whose roots spread out toward the water. It has nothing to fear when the heat comes. Its leaves are always green. It has no need to be concerned in a year of drought. It does not stop bearing fruit. 9 The human mind is more deceitful than anything else. It is incurably bad. Who can understand it?
The 21st Century Church needs to wake up from our slumber party; as we are tumbling slowly and suddenly to the valley of emptiness, lacking colorful influence on society. Our actions say; “There is no God” and that kind of attitude and Christianity is a religion of fools and is not any different from atheism.
The famous twentieth- century philosopher Will Durant said something I believe should be seriously considered by all thinking people: “The greatest question of our time is not communism vs. individualism, nor Europe vs. America, not even the East vs. the West; it is whether man can bear to live without God”. That is exactly what so many are trying to do in society today. Those who profess themselves to be atheists make up a tiny minority of our population (USA) – about 5 or 6 percent. But there are far more practicing atheist, though they would never verbalize it. They may attend Church every Sunday, but from Monday morning to Saturday night, God has no place in their thoughts. There is no place for prayer (relationship) in their lives. They do not seek His face and His word. They have no devotional life. They are practical atheist.
Friend, let’s remember our first love. Hear the Lord’s word to His loveless Church in Revelation 2:1-5 1“To the angel of the church of Ephesus write, ‘These things says He who holds the seven stars in His right hand, who walks in the midst of the seven golden lampstands: 2 “I know your works, your labor, your patience, and that you cannot bear those who are evil. And you have tested those who say they are apostles and are not, and have found them liars; 3 and you have persevered and have patience, and have labored for My name’s sake and have not become weary. 4 Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love. 5 Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works, or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place—unless you repent.
Our first works are the works of affection we have towards God. I call it the honeymoon moments of Christianity. As you focus on God’s love for you; you automatically cure your heart, which is so bound by societal influence unto Christ Centered life; a life full of Christ love and power.
Rebecca express the great disconnect and the gravitational pull of our society from God, family and friends; we trying to fill in the space with electronic gadgets. She writes in her blog (http//and a sprinkleoflove.com) “We are such a fast paced busy society. The 21st century has us overbooked, over stressed, and completely disconnected with each other. We are families with busy careers and too many activities. The time spent face to face with each other (either for fellowship, edifying or worship) is being replaced with being shoulder to shoulder in the car distracted by some sort of gadget. I Pods, cell phones, and video games have replaced real human interaction. Families used to treasure the time around the dinner table just sharing and talking, creating strong family bonds. Now, it’s a race to throw something in the microwave or visiting the drive thru in between activities. We are losing the true purpose and beauty of life, and our families are missing out on the deep bonds that make family so precious”.
The true purpose of life is to be conformed to the image of the Son of God and let Him live His life through us in quality relationships with Him, family and friends in the bond of true love and fulfill the great commission with passion. Let us return to the underlying foundation of Christianity; Prayer, devotion or quiet time, fellowship, fasting, evangelism, worship.
It starts right now…probe your ways and see where you have to make adjustment: Lamentations 3:40 sounds a clarion call to “Let us examine and probe our ways, And let us return to the LORD”. Some habits and strongholds can be changed as we spend time alone in God’s presence for total renewal… Joel 2:12 says; “Yet even now,” declares the LORD, “Return to Me with all your heart, And with fasting, weeping and mourning”. The Lord promise to heal our hearts of addiction to the carnal impulses of societal pull and used us for His glory to make an indelible mark which cannot be raised… Hosea 6:1 “Come, let us return to the LORD. For He has torn us, but He will heal us; He has wounded us, but He will bandage us
We are the new breed through union with Christ Jesus to make inroads into the entertainment, business, political, sporting world and all other pillars of culture to influence the world with the loveliness and power of Christ. On your mark, get set, Go!!
Share your thoughts on how best we can bring the Church and the family back to the place of affectionate union with God in the 21st Century. Thanks’ and have super loving relationship with our Savior Jesus Christ.

How much better to get wisdom than gold, to choose understanding rather than silver! Proverbs 16:16 (NIV)
I think what fascinates me about wisdom is that it is non-discriminatory. You can have a Phd and lack wisdom, but you can be illiterate and be wise. The pauper can obtain it, but the wealthy can’t buy it. And the strong can’t take it from the one who is weak. It would seem wisdom can be obtained by all. The only advantage in obtaining wisdom is time. The longer one lives the more opportunities to amass it, but age is only an advantage, it’s not a guarantee.
So how do we get it?
It seems that humility is one accelerant to obtaining wisdom.
Proverbs 18:10 “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom” What could be more humbling than recognizing the character and nature of God and our position to Him? The wisest of people I have encountered do not have even a smidge of arrogance or haughtiness in their person. Jesus, who had every right to power, became nothing, serving his own creation to the point of death. Humility has probably been the most difficult of postures to acquire and greatest of personal struggles I’ve faced throughout life. Every time their is pride, wisdom is absent
