“Instead of your trouble, God has crowned you with double honor; you have no business with your naysayers to let the sound of their voice stop you on your tracks… It’s not over; get up and run with the winds of His grace on your back” On your mark, set, GO…
The children of Ephraim, being armed and carrying bows, Turned back in the day of battle… Psalms 78:9 NKJV
As covenant children of the creator of heaven and earth, we have become living icons of a living God on is side of eternity. We have the very DNA of God, to master every form of situation effortlessly. The reason we can confidently look in the face of obstacles stacked up against us and not be paralyzed in fear and discouragement, but rather shout from the roof top to the hearing of Satan and his cohorts; “we will not be ashamed or disgraced”. It is not a matter of what we know or can do better in life through self effort, it’s a matter of complete dependence on a God who is an ever-present help in times of trouble. You cannot be corrupted or put to shame friend; you are crowned in honor! For Yahweh is your help.
For the Lord God will help Me; Therefore I will not be disgraced; Therefore I have set My face like a flint, And I know that I will not be ashamed – Isaiah 50:7 NKJV
Do you remember the young David, standing in a very hostile environment against an enemy of God, when the battle lines were drawn between the Philistine champion, Goliath and God’s covenant people, Israel. David was not only fighting against Goliath, he was also fighting against his inner critic and the negative analyses of his own brothers, who were experience military men in the army of Saul. His brothers had the accolade and the ability in tactical warfare to analyze things in the flesh to sow a
seed of fear and doubt into their younger brothers heart. They could even visualize his untimely death and disgrace to the kingdom of Saul and that of their family. They saw shame, but David saw the mercies of God, which is new every morning. Their analysis could not deter him because his conviction and opinion of his God, outweighed every silly voice of doubt in his ears. What do you see and what are you hearing? You can control your emotions or bend to the suggestions of men if you are distracted from who your God is and who you are in Him. God is on your side….you can only press on through the dark valleys of life. You are not far from change!! What are you facing today? Does the negative opinion of your Doctor and the bad report of the media, instill fear into your life, yielding the fruit of hopelessness and despairing of tomorrow? This is your time to believe that God has already crowned you with glory and honor, therefore victory over sickness and lack is imminent. Help is here! Glory to God!! Look beyond your predicament my friend and behold the beauty of Christ as you transform from glory to glory by His Spirit.
Now Eliab his oldest brother heard when he spoke to the men; and Eliab’s anger was aroused against David, and he said, “Why did you come down here? And with whom have you left those few sheep in the wilderness? I know your pride and the insolence of your heart, for you have come down to see the battle.” And David said, “What have I done now? Is there not a cause? ( 1 Samuel 17:28-29 (NKJV)
IS THERE NOT A CAUSE – When you understand your assignment in life, and become passionate and obsess about the God who assigned, you will always rise above the hump. David knew his cause… he had a special knowledge of God and his ability to do the impossible through the ordinary. He plugged himself into God’s activity, expecting a turnaround miracle from Him. He could not be moved by men’s negativity or the sight of the giant, Goliath. He was so full of God; fear was nowhere to be found in his vocabulary. He boldly declared to the Philistine champion;
“Then David said to the Philistine, “You come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin. But I come to you in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. This day the LORD will deliver you into my hand, and I will strike you and take your head from you. And this day I will give the carcasses of the camp of the Philistines to the birds of the air and the wild beasts of the earth that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel. Then all this assembly shall know that the LORD does not save with sword and spear; for the battle is the LORD’s, and He will give you into our hands.” 1 Samuel 17:45-47 (NKJV)
What kind of attitude are you demonstrating in the midst of a very complex situation you dealing with? Do you shudder in fear and disbelief or you’ve learn to hope in God no matter the circumstances? God always honors the trust we place in Him. When the battle is always the Lord’s, He will always place our adversaries underneath our feet, to glorify His name. Instead of shame, you will see the Lords glory in all areas of life. David saw the glory of God revealed through him, when he stood boldly for the God of Israel. God is always looking for a man who will plug into His redemptive plan, to pull down the evil restrictions and limitation which exalt itself against the knowledge of God. You can be that agent of change at your office, school, family or community, where everybody is afraid to stand out for what they believe. Be that voice in your community or local Church, to break the glass ceiling hanging over the heads of people; for the joy that Christ to be experienced abundantly.
WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT? Who would have thought that Goliath will fall the hands of a young shepherd boy, who was not officially enrolled into the army of King Saul? The stuff in your life which keeps you in a state of anxiety, fear, stress and depression are not from your God; they come your way from Satan, to contain you in a dungeon of shame and disgrace. You are not far from help. Your God has already given the victory through His Son Jesus. Rise and begin to do things you have been made to believe that it is impossible. God does not help the helper, He helps the helpless. Your weakness and doubts are to bring you to a place of dying to self and embrace the fullness of His grace to do the uncommon.
So David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and a stone, and struck the Philistine and killed him. But there was no sword in the hand of David. Therefore David ran and stood over the Philistine, took his sword and drew it out of its sheath and killed him, and cut off his head with it. And when the Philistines saw that their champion was dead, they fled. -1 Samuel 17:50-51 (NKJV)
My friend whatever is meant to bring you shame and disgrace or to keep you in perpetual agony, is packing its luggage from your tent. The chronic ailments, scarcity, hurt and the bondage of addiction, are not a match to the glorious power of God, which delivered us from every curse of the law into the boundless riches of His inheritance. It’s a new day; a day God crowns your life with restoration of life, favor, total victory, wholeness and salvation, for the total man in Christ Jesus. Amen!!
