Consider myself as anything worth emulating
Why would you waste your time and resources
Trying to become anything worthless in being
I am worthless
I am hopeless
A destitute, standing under the spotlight
There is nothing good within me, except ego
There is nothing good within me except illusions
They went out there, looking for someone to emulate
They travelled far and near, searching for hope in others
Why would you waste your time searching for dry lands
To anchor your soul on, when the ocean is beckoning on you?
I don’t consider myself to be worth emulating
I don’t consider myself to be worth emulating
I’m wrapped up in sin, Without Christ;
I am a sounding brass,
A trumpet sound, without meaning
Look into the eyes of the ones whose heart has
Been invaded by His (Christ) very own life
On this dreary side of eternity –
There is a refuge of a savior
For the weary heart and the broken
His worth in them
is worth emulating

Someone has a question they use in new churches, with new congregations (it came into my head as I was reading your words): “Who is your relationship with?”. The other question they ask is “Why are you here today?”
I started reading your piece irritated at your put down of one of our Lord’s unique creations. And then embraced the words, the thought, the triggers. And that is very cool McD – very cool indeed! Thank you.
