I had a teary eye watching the Kimyal tribe of Papua, Indonesia… celebrating the arrival of the New Testament Bible in their own language, with tears of joy. This was inspiring to watch, and extremely sobering.
John 1:14 -The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
To them the Bible was not a piece of book you add to your book collection, covered with dust. It was the coming of the living logos into their land. They have labored, prayed, believed and waited for this day, just as Simeon waited for the arrival of the Son of God. They could not contain their joy, as the old generation handed the Bible to the new generation, amidst singing and dancing. So inspiring!
Most of us living on this part of the world where access to the Bible, in whatever form or shape is so enormous, takes the word for granted. We have time for everything, but no appeal to the Bible. I trust the Lord that, this precious moment will awaken a brand new obsession and passion in your heart, to see the Bible in a new light.
Revelation 1:17-18
17 When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. Then he placed his right hand on me and said: “Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last. 18 I am the Living One; I was dead, and now look, I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades.
Lets Pray: Father God, forgive us for taking your word for granted. Renew our hearts with your Holy Spirit, and save us from the pull of this world. May your word become alive in our hearts, as we daily walk under the persuasion of your truth. We humbly ask you, in the name of your Son Jesus Christ. Amen!
