Hello, I’m Veronica
The sky is not completely dark at night. Were the sky absolutely dark, one would not be able to see the silhouette of an object against the sky.

PANTOMIME
to hide away from the storms
of life,
knowing too well that
it could only provide us some
temporal warmth, and safety,
yet we rebel against
the voice of our spirit
_____
The spirit who only yearns
for eternal pleasures,
and lasting security
for our own benefit
_____
Have
we been reduced to
mere seekers of
temporal bliss,
_____
being caged in an exaggerated
emotional prison?
_____
We’re wrapped in facade
Dancing to the tune we
never requested.
_____
Who am I?
Who controls me?
Why am I dancing to this song?
Is there more to know than this?
_____
Illuminate the darkness—
Chase it through the desert,
Out of your soul;
Burying her in the oceans depths
_____
You shall return to your primal self
This is not you
This is never you
Find you, and live you
_______
Oh, earth-maker
Oh, earth-maker
Maybe, you can give me
a reality to hold on to.

THIRD•WORLD•
Filled with greed.
They sat in the mud they’ve invented,
sipping koolade from the cup in our hands.
_____
Our soul weeps
Our lips are dry, for lack of words—
to express our pain,
our hopelessness
Oh, the economic darkness
that hangs over our heads
____
A pocket full of rocks,
but we want peace and not war
We waited for a savior, but they
gave us Barabbas;
to rule over a weakling lamb.
_____
Let’s go the West
Let’s got to the west
Let’s go and drink
milk and honey.
Alas, no one knew what was
in stored —
a belly filled with illusional
promises, and hopes;
the catalyst of wanderers.
______
We died with our kids
We died from severe hunger;
Enroute to Rome.
____
We died with anger
When help never came
____
We died unfulfilled
We died unfulfilled
Cause our leaders emptied
the destiny in our cups
as we wandered like sheeps
without shepherds.
_____
Ah, we died like animals
We died like we were not humans
______
We are dead.
Unfulfilled.
Gone too soon.
Like a candle;
after the storm.
______
Millions will join us…
As long us greedy people
Rule the land of my fathers.

SOUR GRAPES

There was a mother who never knew love from no one.
Not even her own household.
______
Daily, she will drive to the cemetery,
cursing the graves of her parents,
for bringing her to a dark world;
living with ungrateful souls.
______
They fed her with sour grapes
Until her teethe was set on edge
She bite life without passion
Consumed with blurry questions
And the labors of her soul
____
Where is my reward?
Where is my honor?
Does love exist?
____
She danced in the dark rain
Wet with unanswerable questions;
Beating under her lungs like an
AFRICAN drum.
____
Maybe, one day I will find love
Maybe, one day love will find meWhichever way it happens—
Love must find a way through this
Frangible, weary, temple of mine;
Dancing with me to the altar of freedom
___
Sadly, she never found love
Love never found her
Cause her hurt was so deep, wide,
And high than the walls of Jericho
_____
Ah, we go to cemeteries;
showering silver tears upon graves;
Wanting to hold and hug the dead
But the living is forgotten and not appreciated
____
Too bad.
Sometimes, we wait till they’re gone
To the other side of life, before we
Appreciate.
____
To all WOMEN, who feel downcast within —
I sent my love to you,
My wings i share with you –
To give you the momentum to rise
Rising unto another day
Another beautiful day
Filled with the fragrance Of Eden’s Roses
Happy Mother’s Day ❤
_____NB: I wrote this prose poetry on Mothers Day (5/8/16)
Dedicated to all mothers who for some reason, been
broken by the unappreciative spirit of the ungrateful.
There are countless women around the world, who are
dealing with unexplainable pain – feeling lost and
neglect by society. I pray that God with baptize your
soul with His uncommon love to overcome the emptiness
within. You’re one beautiful strong woman – don’t give
up to the afflictions of life. God, even your God will
keep you from falling from the edge of insanity. Amen!______

FRIENDS & FAMILY
Friendship is a miracle.
You have it both?
Keep it with your two hands
Protect it from the dark moon
Hide it in your heart; a treasure
Why walk with your head down?
Why sit ye lonely, filled with questions?
Blessings & miracles are always under attack
Don’t give up on them, cause of imperfections
Don’t think you can make it alone, without it
Families are a blessing from the Lord
He sets us in mild, and wild families —
The good, the bad, and the ugly, are from Him
Do everything to make it organically good
Don’t ever say; “I wish I belong somewhere”
Sometimes, we pay attentions to the little
Stuff, so we miss the bigger picture
Families are a blessing
Friendship is a miracle
I am glad I belong to a family
You’re my family, irrespective of your color, Race, creed, religion, and what have you.
I deeply love you, fam!
