The goal of God is harvest. Yes, a harvest that abounds more and more unto righteousness. When you hear the word harvest what comes to mind? The Lord desires to see His children bring the unregenerate world into the union of Christ and to see us, all of His children, walk in true prosperity in all facets of life, especially excelling in the mysteries of His kingdom. The ultimate harvest in the life of the believer is for him to manifest the very nature of God in our born-again spirit, generated by our experience with the word of God
““The one sown among thorns represents one who receives the message, but all of life’s busy distractions, his divided heart, and his ambition for wealth result in suffocating the kingdom message and it becomes fruitless.”
Matthew 13:22 TPT
In Jesus parable of the sower, as echoed in Mathew chapter thirteen. He emphasized different kinds of soils that represent the condition of the heart in receiving the message of the Kingdom, which is the seed for harvest, and one that caught my attention was the seed that was sown among thorns. When the sower cast his seeds, these precious seeds have the potential to birth a new life from within the soil. Unfortunately, these seeds fell among thorns and thistles. The seed was sown and the expectation was that it will yield a harvest according to its potency but there were deterrents to the sacred seed. The seed was good but the limitations were exceedingly bigger, affecting the expectable results
When the disciples came to Christ secretly to inquire about the meaning of this cryptic message, they learned an important truth from the master, that in order to bear much fruit in the word of God, one has to give himself completely to it, without the distractions of the mundane. He explained; “The one sown among thorns represents one who receives the message, but all of life’s busy distractions, his divided heart, and his ambition for wealth result in suffocating the kingdom message and it becomes fruitless.” Matthew 13:22 TPT
True harvest is not automatic. Sometimes I hear people confess great promises and truth concerning God’s word and yet their life is extremely far apart from their declarations. The word does not bring a harvest because we read it or confess it. If it has not gain root in our spirit and influenced us from the inward place, our confession could be done out for sentimental reasons. The word of God gives us legitimate access into the realities of God that affect us positively on this side of life. There is a premium on the seed sown if it does perfect its complete work in our hearts without the distractions of this world that comes against our harvest. It is not how much you know the word of God from an intellectual position, but how deeply it has sunk into your heart by revelation. It is through revelation — insight which is directly linked to a practical life
We are living in a generation where many in the body of Christ do not know how to give themselves to the message of the kingdom in order to capture the heart of God and live it as their mission, and way of life. We are so caught up in the euphoria of the world, to the extent that the living word is not our expression but the manifestation of the thorns. The word is choked. God is boxed in our actions because we not willing to pay the price to see a harvest of God in our lives, extending the frontiers of the Kingdom. Thank God, there is a new generation arising, who are cultivating seeds and waiting for His manifestation in greater power and life. They are tired of an ethical institution without the rich and fuller life of God. They are tired of the church being too normal when we can operate under the influence of the word in supernatural livimg
““But what was sown on good, rich soil represents the one who hears and fully embraces the message of the kingdom. Their lives bear good fruit—some yield a harvest of thirty, sixty, even one hundred times as much as was sown.””
Matthew 13:23 TPT
Yes, this category of “embracers” of the word will never be extinguished by the cold distractions and pleasures of this world. Such men and women have offered themselves to God so that He can find expression in them in whatever capacity the word unfolds. The word is the will of God and of His Kingdom, sown into the heart of ordinary men to exercise His governmental policies and power in an organic interface. Satan will come after your pursuit for the harvest of God in your life through the word. Oh, He will come with all kinds of setbacks to fizzle the process of harvest in our lives.
Brothers and sisters, let’s press deep into the truth, amid the many attractions and distractions of our time. God’s purpose is guaranteed but our place is to contend for our faith with a resilient heart to attain the measure of our ordination, or else we forfeit the harvest encapsulated in the word towards this season. Arise, shine, for your light has come!
