“True Christianity is not about feeling a sense of hopelessness-desperation for God’s attention. In Christ Jesus, we have 24/7 relentless love and caring attention of our heavenly Father. Our faith is not a stimuli to evoke a speedy reaction from God, but rather our faith embraces and appropriates whats He has already done through the finish work of Christ Jesus, on Calvary cross”

McD don’t make it so simple. I like my God complicated with room for argument! (my sense of humour)
Lovely!! Thank you.

Hahahahahah…thanks so much once again. Yesterday at a prayer meeting, I ask the prayer group; “Why so much desperation on our faces when we pray?” I don’t think we have to go through hell before we get to heaven

Amen! You hit on a subject that relates to a pet peeve of mine about popular Christian music. So much of it is about begging God to love them or do something they already have. He’s waiting for us to actually believe Him. Maybe our prayer should be, “I’m desperate for revelation of what I already have in Christ!”

True that; “Maybe our prayer should be, “I’m desperate for revelation of what I already have in Christ!”
A gentleman told me few days ago that desperation is a form of motivation to pray passionately in the presence of God. As sons and daughters of the King of Kings and the creator of the universe, i don’t see the reason we have to go through hell before we get to heaven. Thanks Pastor Mel
