GOD DON’T STOP, WHEN LIFE STOPS

Photo Credit: www.zealeap.comLike a spectator watching his favorite team in a losing streak; with a sullen face. You sit quietly on the floor, at the corner of your living room, staring on the ceiling with a heart filled with shame, guilt and fear mixed in a concoction of probing questions, hitting all cylinders in your mind, yet with no concrete solutions. The confusion in your mind and the uncertainty of your tomorrow drains life out of your soul like a leech. The dark clouds over your head is too thick, but it shows no promise of rain.

I am talking about the night-time seasons of life…when one is dealing with the issue divorce, separation, incurable disease, lack, unpaid bills, deportation, shame, dark secret, big time failure in business transactions, guilt or the death of a love one. That moment when suicidal thoughts run through your mind, fast and furious. Everything that defines your worth and significance, in the physical realm is fallen apart without repairs. The hand writing on the wall says; “dead-end, no turn, no exit, the end”.

How do I go from here to there?…

WE ALL GO THROUGH IT These dark moments, everyone go trough it one way or the other. These night-time struggles and it demon, can walk quietly into a section A Indian-farmer-droughtneighborhoods and suffocate a single parent, whose young teenage boy is the only hope for the future with premature death, through straight bullet from a wrong place at a wrong time. These night time struggles is not shy of being found in the rich suburban and gated communities of your city; terrorizing and taking life out of the rich and the wealthy. The rich, the poor, the great, the least, white and the colored, presidents and kings all go through these moments. Hitting the quit bell, always seem to be the best option. Friend quitters don’t win and winners don’t quit. You are a winner through the power of Christ.

Jairus was “the ruler of the synagogue” at Capernaum; in faith, pleaded with Jesus to heal his very ill daughter. While Jesus was delayed in arriving because of the crowds, the girl died. But it didn’t matter – because of Jairus’ deep faith in the words of Christ, the girl was raised back to physical life, from the dead. Dr. Luke records it in Chapter eight of his gospel – Luke 8:40-42  “And it came to pass, that, when Jesus was returned, the people gladly received Him: for they were all waiting for Him. And, behold, there came a man named Jairus, and he was a ruler of the synagogue: and he fell down at Jesus’ feet, and besought Him that He would come into his house: For he had one only daughter, about twelve years of age, and she lay a dying.”

WHICH ONE IS DIFFICULT? Going through the long tunnel of life with a belly full of regret and pain, or falling on your knees with a childlike faith to a loving God, Photo Credit: solelydevoted.net who is always willing to lavish us with hope and meaning to live again, with smiles on our faces. Jairus was a man of standing in his community – He could have chosen the path of internalizing the pain of dealing with the ill health of his lovely daughter, but rather humbled himself before Jesus for a turn around. You cannot overcome pain by dragging yourself through the drain of self occupation and neglect the true God. Friend, God is personal, and thinks only about your welfare. God is not shaken his head over your mistakes and misfortunes. His arms are wide open to hug and invoke life into your weak heart, and power to your torturing knees. I love the humility and faith of Jairus; He fell down at Jesus’ feet, and besought Him that He would come into his house. Why don’t you invite Jesus into your house, your office, your family, at your sick-bed, jail house and at wherever you find yourself now, and totally surrender to His will

Mark 5:35-36 NET…While he was still speaking, people came from the synagogue ruler’s house saying, “Your daughter has died. Why trouble the teacher any longer?” But Jesus, paying no attention to what was said, told the synagogue ruler, “Do not be afraid; just believe.”

DO NOT BE AFRAID, JUST BELIEVE – Death is the cessation of life. Sometimes life loses its savor and flavor and the writing on the wall and the signs in the blue skies are bold and clear enough, for the ignoble to read and interpret your situation as, “totally impossible”. Those moments are very frustrating; one simple decision can make you or cause you to surrender to despair.   Many have given up in life, embittered and disappointed in God and the people they thought didn’t do too much to help them sail through their storms. God is a God of miracles. He always knows the end from the beginning. He is NOT afraid of detours, dead ends, no exit and stop signs. He always has the right means to get us to the right destination. He makes a way where there seems to be no way. All He requires from us is to totally trust Him to do the impossible in our lives, by His power.

Photo Credit: synecticsworld.comTo Jairus, the arrow to his heart was the bad news of the death of his lovely daughter. The good news is that God don’t stop when all hell broke loose against us.  I have seen it time and time again in ministry; even as you love the Lord and want to do His will and fulfill a mandate on your life, you apply effort and diligence to your vision and goals, and yet it seems your efforts is always fizzled into the thin air and your own shadow keep yelling at you, “pal, this ain’t gonna work” “am tired of following you” “it is time we try something else”. That is crazy; your own shadow is even tired and burned out on every front.

In 2005, our Church landlord (New York) called me to his office, because we were struggling to pay $515 monthly rent. Paul, who was a kind Jewish elderly man, looked  into my eye through my weakling soul and said, “Young man I have observed you; I know you love God, but if you milk a cow and the cow don’t give you milk, you try something else, and in the future when the dust settles down, you can once again put your hands on the cow to see what is in store”. That was wisdom from Paul, but all that he was telling me was to quit indirectly. Those were the times, I almost threw in the towel and gave up on my calling. Man always has their opinion, but it is the counsel of the Lord that will always stand if one learn to hold on to His everlasting arm, and keep on keeping on, until you get there. To make a long story short, God turned my captivity around and ordered my step into a fruitful vineyard. I did not sail through because of any human technique; His grace was abundant in my weakness.

Mark 5:36 “As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken he said unto the ruler of the synagogue, BE NOT AFRAID, ONLY BELIEVE”

Jairus heard death, Jesus saw life in a dead situation, therefore entreated him not to allow the law of fear to governed the faith persuasions of his heart, but to consciously keep up his belief. Don’t quit my friend and never allow the nay Sayers to stop you on your tracks. It might seem like you have come to the dead-end of life. If you can hold on for another day, another second, another week, another month and another year, patiently holding on to His grace; you will hear Him say, “TalithaPhoto Credit: cccooperagency.wordpress.com koum”  which means, “Little girl, I say to you, get up.” Some things are going rise up again in your life, because your God don’t stop in the face of death.

And when He came into the house, He suffered no man to go in, save Peter, and James, and John, and the father and the mother of the maiden. And all wept, and bewailed her: but He said, Weep not; she is not dead, but sleepeth.” “And they laughed Him to scorn, knowing that she was dead. And He put them all out, and took her by the hand, and called, saying, Maid, arise.(Talitha koum) And her spirit came again, and she arose straightway: and He commanded to give her meat. And her parents were astonished: but He charged them that they should tell no man what was done.” (Luke 8:49-56 KJV)

LETS PRAY – Thank you Lord Jesus, through the precious Holy Spirit. Your presence fills every dark alleys of my life, and through your power, today I have been delivered from the power of depression, lack, sickness, sin and loneliness and have been restored completely into wholeness. Nothing missing, nothing broken. In your Holy name, Jesus I pray. Amen!

PURPOSE DISPONDENCY AND WOES

PURPOSE DISPONDENCY AND WOES

There is a seated unhappiness in the hearts of many believers, who are trying so hard to discover God’s “master plan” for their life. Many are not sure today if where they’ve lived for years are the right location for them or whom they are partners with in business or marriage are the right people to lead them to that bliss called master plan, after many years on the path to purpose.

There are others who also think, they’ve missed God’s master plan, and there is no hope for tomorrow for their life. Isn’t it sad to live your life searching for a master plan outside of Him when you are a master plan of God in Him.

Romans 8:28-29 (NET)
28 And we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, who are called according to his purpose, 29 because those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son that his Son would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.

My dear friend, you are chosen by God by faith through grace into a great purpose, to conform to the very image of God and through this union or relationship… you can access the acceptable and perfect will of the Father through the agency of the Spirit. There is no greater purpose than this!

Stop searching for a master plan, my good friend!! You are God’s master plan; live each day yielding to the exertions of His holy influence on your soul, emotions and will as you do what you are passionate about in life through this influence (grace) on your heart. Yielding your thought to God in the tiny decisions of life, allows Him to emanate through us as a conduit for greater works. Many are like sitting beside a pool waiting for the huge bubble on the waters of their life with a trumpet sound echoing their name for arrival to that bliss. This behavior of waiting for a “breakthrough” leads to despondency in your heart. Each day must be embraced as a life of purpose in the things that glorifies Him in our lives as we lay on the altar of total surrender. This is awesome!!

Romans 12:2 (NET)
Do not be conformed to this present world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind so that you may test and approve what is the will of God—what is good and well-pleasing and perfect.

God’s plan and purpose are His thoughts, plugged in by the believer. He wants you well, healed, prospered, anointed, favored, righteous, wise, creative, win souls, live cheerfully, intelligent, good relationships as wrought in the finished work of Christ. You are not ahead neither are you late in God’s program. All Things shall work together for your good. All things mean everything. It does not really matter where you are now or the degree you have failed. Failure is the language of the unregenerate. We win, no matter what…because Christ is winning daily through us.

JEHOVAH KNOW

Gravity of Grace Note:
I listened to this song today and felt so much overwhelmed with God’s supernatural peace which surpasses everything in this world over my entire being. My desire and prayer is that you may experience an unusual peace and the boundless love of Christ whatever maybe your situation today. God knows it all and He always has the answer for the unsolvable puzzles of like that kick us against the wall. We are bombarded with so much negativity each day of our life on this side of eternity…confusion, bad report of the doctor, disappointment and the many insecurities and façade of society.

In the midst of the perplexities and the hopeless landscape of our world today, we can lift our head to a God who knows all things and only desire the prosperity of His children to embrace peace, comfort, hope and a future instead of being crippled with a belly full of regret and despair. Wipe your tears and turn your eyes upon Jesus, my dear friend and appropriate strength to soar up high like an eagle as you listen to this song and meditate on the words. Cheers!

LYRICS OF THE SONG

I will worship the Lord,
For He is worthy;
I will lay down my sword,
The Prince Of Peace is His name.
King of the flood,
The Lord is mighty;
The Lord can quench the evil flame.

Peace when trouble blows,
Jehovah sees, Jehovah knows;
He is my peace, when sorrow nears,
Jehovah sees, Jehovah hears.

Feel the presence of God,
Upon the water,
Hear the voice of the Lord,
Within the thunder that rolls,
King of the flood,
The Lord is mighty,
The Lord can calm the troubled soul.

Peace when trouble blows,
Jehovah sees, Jehovah knows;
He is my peace, when sorrow nears,
Jehovah sees, Jehovah hears

Like the breath,
I need to live,
Jehovah takes, Jehovah gives;
Gives me peace,
When trouble blows,
Jehovah sees, Jehovah knows.

Judgment coming, He is my peace;
Men pursue me, He is my peace.
Judge! Judgment is coming, He is my peace;
Men pursue me, He is my peace

WISDOM ACCELERATION

By wisdom a house is built
By wisdom a house is built

How much better to get wisdom than gold, to choose understanding rather than silver! Proverbs 16:16 (NIV)

I think what fascinates me about wisdom is that it is non-discriminatory. You can have a Phd and lack wisdom, but you can be illiterate and be wise. The pauper can obtain it, but the wealthy can’t buy it. And the strong can’t take it from the one who is weak. It would seem wisdom can be obtained by all. The only advantage in obtaining wisdom is time. The longer one lives the more opportunities to amass it, but age is only an advantage, it’s not a guarantee.

So how do we get it?

It seems that humility is one accelerant to obtaining wisdom.

Proverbs 18:10 “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom” What could be more humbling than recognizing the character and nature of God and our position to Him? The wisest of people I have encountered do not have even a smidge of arrogance or haughtiness in their person. Jesus, who had every right to power, became nothing, serving his own creation to the point of death. Humility has probably been the most difficult of postures to acquire and greatest of personal struggles I’ve faced throughout life. Every time their is pride, wisdom is absent

Playground made from trash gets children back in the swing

(CNN) — No sooner had Ruganzu Bruno and his troupe of fellow eco-artists arrived at Kampala’s Kawempe area than their presence stirred up questions within the local community.

“What are you doing?” the startled residents asked. “Why are you using all this plastic?” they continued, baffled by the piles of waste bottles that were gradually filling a dusty compound yard in the northwestern suburb of the Ugandan capital.

What the group of artists was doing was creating “The Hand That Speaks,” an enormous structure made of recycled materials to raise awareness about environmental degradation.

“We were trying to bring out the message that the hand is the one which is throwing this trash into the environment and at the same time it could be used to collect [them] and save the environment,” says Bruno.

And once the nine artists started assembling their futuristic creation, using more than 20,000 bottles collected in the slums of Kampala, the local crowds also decided to lend a helping hand.

“At first, the community were confused but then they really loved it,” says Bruno. “They were always getting us bottles.”

Eco Art

That was about four years ago, when Bruno was still a student at the Kyambogo University fine art school. During that time, the talented painter and sculptor discovered that he wasn’t interested in just crafting artworks that would only satisfy his creative needs.

I kind of felt a change within myself to think about others. Ruganzu Bruno, artist

Instead, he wanted his art to have a positive impact on his community.

“When we are trying to achieve things in life we are self-centered, and as artists we tend to make work for ourselves,” explains Bruno, 30.

“I kind of felt a change within myself to think about others,” he adds. “From then on I could not only paint — I decided to work on work that was beneficial to my community.”

Driven by a desire to influence his surroundings, Bruno then became involved in eco-art projects, devising innovative ways to deal with Kampala’s acute waste management problem.

In 2010 he founded Eco Art Uganda, a collective of artists promoting environmental awareness by transforming anything from discarded bottles and cast-aside metal to broken TVs and computers into contemporary and functional pieces of art.

“I was looking for materials that were not expensive and easily available,” says the soft-spoken artist, who hails from southwest Uganda.

“I really found that this trash and rubbish could actually become a really positive way of communicating to people,” adds Bruno, who’s won several accolades for his work, including the Ugandan Young Achievers award 2011.

Amusement park

In April last year, Bruno also won the $10,000 City 2.0 Award at the TEDx summit in Doha, Qatar, for his idea to create an amusement playground for children living in Kampala’s congested slums.

I think a man will always be remembered by his work. Ruganzu Bruno, artist

Using an array of recycled materials, Bruno went on to transform a school yard in Kampala’s Kireka community into a fun and safe place where children can play and learn.

The eco-park, which was completed last September, is dotted with whimsical structures attracting dozens of children each day — from a colorful helicopter and life-size board games made of bottles to recycled swings and climbing frames crafted from old tires.

Bruno says the entire community, which lacked a recreation facility, embraced the project wholeheartedly.

“I talked to the head of the school, and together with the parents and the students, they are the ones who collected the bottles,” says Bruno, who is also a lecturer in the department of Art & Design at Kyambogo University.

“So we built the playground together as a team and they know how to repair it — this is very important in terms of sustainability.”

But more importantly, Bruno, who was orphaned at a young age, says the project has had a positive impact on the children.

“The attention of children in class has improved; the number of children who are dropping out [is falling] because now they have something to keep them busy there, ” he adds. “There is a really good progress and it has also helped them to express themselves in class.”

Legacy

Bruno says his goal is to recreate “as many as 100” similar amusement parks in other parts of Uganda.

He is also using the prize money to grow an eco-artist loan scheme he’s developed, aimed at supporting the business endeavors of creative women in Kireka.

It’s all part of his continuous efforts to be an artist whose work will serve his community’s needs.

“I think a man will always be remembered by his work, “says Bruno. “I’m an advocate now of the environment; I’m an advocate for play for children; I’m an artist …who wants his work to have an effect on the people.”.

10/10 GLORY

imagesCAV14KZIDo you know you have one life to live and every other thing that temporarily makes you tick has the side effect to make you tired, worn out and burn out in despair today or tomorrow? The life here and tomorrow is guaranteed 110% with glory in Christ Jesus for all who will place their trust in Him. You want to bear fruit that really can last through the inevitables of this side of the cross? Check this;

John 10:10 (HCSB)  A thief comes only to steal and to kill and to destroy. I have come so that they may have life and have it in abundance.

How can a poor tree bear good fruit? Only by grafting… We cannot tell how God has done his work in us, but it is done. We can do nothing and need do nothing to bring it about, for by the resurrection God has already done it. God has done everything. There is only one fruitful life in the world (Christ) and that has been grafted into millions of other lives. – Watchman Nee

Matthew 11:28-30 (MSG) 28-30 “Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”

The yoke of a religion which places the burden on man is not just heavy but it will rather kill your Christian adrenaline halfway through the journey. I dare you to pause for a reflection before you detour on your way to where your name is written upon. Your part of the bargain is to drop from your neck the foundational belief system which says do, do, do, do, try hard and pick the yoke of Christ which is not ill-fitting but empowering to bear much fruit through Him.

I love grace, to be honest with you I am addicted to grace. Not grace as a doctrine but grace as a person of Christ. When Paul said this to the Colossians, he was drawing a line between the shadow of death-dealing religion, and the authentic substance of a life-giving Savior. Religion says it’s about you, but the gospel of grace declares it’s all about him. Religion says “Do, do, do,” but the good news declares “It’s done, done, done!” (E2R)

Truly, truly, we have no power of our own to be able to overcome the devices of the enemy. This bankrupt attitude of pride we have borrowed from the falling world to always want to approach life situations on our own ability is not a match against Satan and his cohorts.

This sort of fallen attitude has created cult heroes who are worshiped in public squares and are seriously beat down with emptiness in their trump apartments in NY and LA and major Cities and later fade away like a shooting star without any trace. Satan is not afraid of our self motivation mantras and jargons; he is incapable to withstand the weakest army loaded with the power of the Holy Ghost, with Christ Jesus as the head of his daily affairs. It feels like jumping from the George Washington Bridge – this is awesome! I got life in Him!! Got life, my friend? (See John 3:15-16, John 10:10 for answers)

“NOW WORD”

Zechariah 4:6-7 (NKJV) 6 So he answered and said to me: “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel:  ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ Says the Lord of hosts. 7 ‘Who are you, O great mountain? Before Zerubbabel you shall become a plain! And he shall bring forth the capstone With shouts of “Grace, grace to it!”’”

Grace is written in bold letters at the entrance of life and like graffiti on the hallways of life to escort you to your destination. Grace is neither a feeling nor an end goal. Grace is Christ! Grace is the life, the empowerment, the wisdom and all you will need to come to the end of the journey with a shout of grace, grace, grace did brought me this far.

Come to the end of self and stop trying by surrendering everything to the Zoë life to experience the glories of God in its entirety.
