GOD DON’T STOP, WHEN LIFE STOPS

Photo Credit: www.zealeap.comLike a spectator watching his favorite team in a losing streak; with a sullen face. You sit quietly on the floor, at the corner of your living room, staring on the ceiling with a heart filled with shame, guilt and fear mixed in a concoction of probing questions, hitting all cylinders in your mind, yet with no concrete solutions. The confusion in your mind and the uncertainty of your tomorrow drains life out of your soul like a leech. The dark clouds over your head is too thick, but it shows no promise of rain.

I am talking about the night-time seasons of life…when one is dealing with the issue divorce, separation, incurable disease, lack, unpaid bills, deportation, shame, dark secret, big time failure in business transactions, guilt or the death of a love one. That moment when suicidal thoughts run through your mind, fast and furious. Everything that defines your worth and significance, in the physical realm is fallen apart without repairs. The hand writing on the wall says; “dead-end, no turn, no exit, the end”.

How do I go from here to there?…

WE ALL GO THROUGH IT These dark moments, everyone go trough it one way or the other. These night-time struggles and it demon, can walk quietly into a section A Indian-farmer-droughtneighborhoods and suffocate a single parent, whose young teenage boy is the only hope for the future with premature death, through straight bullet from a wrong place at a wrong time. These night time struggles is not shy of being found in the rich suburban and gated communities of your city; terrorizing and taking life out of the rich and the wealthy. The rich, the poor, the great, the least, white and the colored, presidents and kings all go through these moments. Hitting the quit bell, always seem to be the best option. Friend quitters don’t win and winners don’t quit. You are a winner through the power of Christ.

Jairus was “the ruler of the synagogue” at Capernaum; in faith, pleaded with Jesus to heal his very ill daughter. While Jesus was delayed in arriving because of the crowds, the girl died. But it didn’t matter – because of Jairus’ deep faith in the words of Christ, the girl was raised back to physical life, from the dead. Dr. Luke records it in Chapter eight of his gospel – Luke 8:40-42  “And it came to pass, that, when Jesus was returned, the people gladly received Him: for they were all waiting for Him. And, behold, there came a man named Jairus, and he was a ruler of the synagogue: and he fell down at Jesus’ feet, and besought Him that He would come into his house: For he had one only daughter, about twelve years of age, and she lay a dying.”

WHICH ONE IS DIFFICULT? Going through the long tunnel of life with a belly full of regret and pain, or falling on your knees with a childlike faith to a loving God, Photo Credit: solelydevoted.net who is always willing to lavish us with hope and meaning to live again, with smiles on our faces. Jairus was a man of standing in his community – He could have chosen the path of internalizing the pain of dealing with the ill health of his lovely daughter, but rather humbled himself before Jesus for a turn around. You cannot overcome pain by dragging yourself through the drain of self occupation and neglect the true God. Friend, God is personal, and thinks only about your welfare. God is not shaken his head over your mistakes and misfortunes. His arms are wide open to hug and invoke life into your weak heart, and power to your torturing knees. I love the humility and faith of Jairus; He fell down at Jesus’ feet, and besought Him that He would come into his house. Why don’t you invite Jesus into your house, your office, your family, at your sick-bed, jail house and at wherever you find yourself now, and totally surrender to His will

Mark 5:35-36 NET…While he was still speaking, people came from the synagogue ruler’s house saying, “Your daughter has died. Why trouble the teacher any longer?” But Jesus, paying no attention to what was said, told the synagogue ruler, “Do not be afraid; just believe.”

DO NOT BE AFRAID, JUST BELIEVE – Death is the cessation of life. Sometimes life loses its savor and flavor and the writing on the wall and the signs in the blue skies are bold and clear enough, for the ignoble to read and interpret your situation as, “totally impossible”. Those moments are very frustrating; one simple decision can make you or cause you to surrender to despair.   Many have given up in life, embittered and disappointed in God and the people they thought didn’t do too much to help them sail through their storms. God is a God of miracles. He always knows the end from the beginning. He is NOT afraid of detours, dead ends, no exit and stop signs. He always has the right means to get us to the right destination. He makes a way where there seems to be no way. All He requires from us is to totally trust Him to do the impossible in our lives, by His power.

Photo Credit: synecticsworld.comTo Jairus, the arrow to his heart was the bad news of the death of his lovely daughter. The good news is that God don’t stop when all hell broke loose against us.  I have seen it time and time again in ministry; even as you love the Lord and want to do His will and fulfill a mandate on your life, you apply effort and diligence to your vision and goals, and yet it seems your efforts is always fizzled into the thin air and your own shadow keep yelling at you, “pal, this ain’t gonna work” “am tired of following you” “it is time we try something else”. That is crazy; your own shadow is even tired and burned out on every front.

In 2005, our Church landlord (New York) called me to his office, because we were struggling to pay $515 monthly rent. Paul, who was a kind Jewish elderly man, looked  into my eye through my weakling soul and said, “Young man I have observed you; I know you love God, but if you milk a cow and the cow don’t give you milk, you try something else, and in the future when the dust settles down, you can once again put your hands on the cow to see what is in store”. That was wisdom from Paul, but all that he was telling me was to quit indirectly. Those were the times, I almost threw in the towel and gave up on my calling. Man always has their opinion, but it is the counsel of the Lord that will always stand if one learn to hold on to His everlasting arm, and keep on keeping on, until you get there. To make a long story short, God turned my captivity around and ordered my step into a fruitful vineyard. I did not sail through because of any human technique; His grace was abundant in my weakness.

Mark 5:36 “As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken he said unto the ruler of the synagogue, BE NOT AFRAID, ONLY BELIEVE”

Jairus heard death, Jesus saw life in a dead situation, therefore entreated him not to allow the law of fear to governed the faith persuasions of his heart, but to consciously keep up his belief. Don’t quit my friend and never allow the nay Sayers to stop you on your tracks. It might seem like you have come to the dead-end of life. If you can hold on for another day, another second, another week, another month and another year, patiently holding on to His grace; you will hear Him say, “TalithaPhoto Credit: cccooperagency.wordpress.com koum”  which means, “Little girl, I say to you, get up.” Some things are going rise up again in your life, because your God don’t stop in the face of death.

And when He came into the house, He suffered no man to go in, save Peter, and James, and John, and the father and the mother of the maiden. And all wept, and bewailed her: but He said, Weep not; she is not dead, but sleepeth.” “And they laughed Him to scorn, knowing that she was dead. And He put them all out, and took her by the hand, and called, saying, Maid, arise.(Talitha koum) And her spirit came again, and she arose straightway: and He commanded to give her meat. And her parents were astonished: but He charged them that they should tell no man what was done.” (Luke 8:49-56 KJV)

LETS PRAY – Thank you Lord Jesus, through the precious Holy Spirit. Your presence fills every dark alleys of my life, and through your power, today I have been delivered from the power of depression, lack, sickness, sin and loneliness and have been restored completely into wholeness. Nothing missing, nothing broken. In your Holy name, Jesus I pray. Amen!

GRACE IS A TOMB RAIDER

John 11:34-36 (NLT) 34 “Where have you put him?” he asked them. They told him, “Lord, come and see.” 35 Then Jesus wept. 36 The people who were standing nearby said, “See how much he loved him!”

Truly, Lazarus epitomizes the depraved state of  the fallen race. Our depraved state, compelled a loving God to leave Heaven to come to our Bethany (World) of hopelessness, pain, and predicament, to rescue us and bring us to the status of divinity – a new life derived from a relationship with Him.

Scripture records that when Lazarus was seriously ill his sisters sent word to Jesus saying; “Lord, the one you love is sick.” Jesus, the friend of Lazarus did not respond ASAP but waited for two more days, and within this period, death laid its icy hands on Lazarus. Jesus love for Martha, Mary and their brother was extravagant, yet He didn’t come when they expected Him but rather came to Bethany when in man’s timing; it was too late. Its, not too late for none in this world, as the blood of Jesus still speaks of His redemptive purpose, towards human race, sitting in gloomy darkness.

God always set His plan in motion; a plan higher and loftier than we can imagine with our peanut minds. It may seem like heaven is on vacation sometimes, when we so badly need God. Friend, you can rest assured in the loveliness of God; He will always show up when we least expect., even at the dead-end of the tomb.

Where have you put Him? This is a probe into the core of the state and condition of the man, whom God created in the very image and likeness of God. When Jesus asked Martha and Mary as to the whereabouts of Lazarus, the guy He loved so much. There was urgency in Jesus steps to reach out to falling man, (so to speak) and snatch him from the power of death; which was a picture of our sinful state. As He drew near, His goal was to show to man, heavens agenda to bring man (Sinner) back to the state of newness of life, as God intended from the beginning of creation.

” To have dominion but not dominated by death, and its derivatives”

He was moved with compassion, and was also indignant in His spirit on how low man has fallen from the status of God’s identity, to being caged in the prison of death. He was standing on ground zero, witnessing the devastating work of Lucifer against humanity.

Where are you my friend? Alive, dead or contained in a dark dungeon, without any sense of hope, purpose and direction! There are answers, in Christ Jesus. The God who came to rescue the dead and the depraved is still at work, loving and bringing life to dead situations. Jesus came to our dead-end to show the character of God; a being who can start all over again with you. He pull us from our wits ends and place us again at the starting line, with fresh legs and a new heart to run the race of life with a new identity and meaning. hallelujah!

Jesus Wept; He found Himself face to face with the works of Satan’s kingdom; an activity of the changed state of the family of the human race, which Lazarus scenario epitomize. Death, was not part of the plan; man sold His identity through the first Adam. He couldn’t control His anger towards the Devil and His deepest emotion of love towards humanity. No wonder, all the people who have come to console Martha and Mary, sensed His deep affection for the Lazarus family. They saw Love (Jesus) and felt Love (God) has come to the place where there was no sense of love, but fear and rejection. They exclaimed in unison “See how He loved him” Grace goes to where we least expect…the tomb to shine all of His goodness upon the undeserved. Jesus did not love Lazarus or her sisters because they were “sponsors” of His ministry, He love them because He is love. We did not merit His love because of our works.

“The world is witnessing the incredible love of Jesus in an unusual way. What we are seeing in this end time about the loveliness of God, is prophetic. Many are being delivered from shame, guilt, condemnation, sin, sickness into total life of prosperity, in its purest beauty”

This is love at work, and it’s not your love for Him, but His love for you. When you grasped His love; your appetite to love Him is awesome, and it affects all that you do in life. God is not just a diffuser of love; He is by nature, love. This means wherever God is; love becomes the fluid that lubricates impossible circumstances, to awaken boldness, faith, restoration etc. which are all a residue of His life imparted to us, so we can face tomorrow with peace and certainty.

1 John 4:16-18 (NLT) 16 We know how much God loves us 17 And as we live in God, our love grows perfect.”   17 And as we live in God, our love grows perfect. So we will not be afraid on the day of judgment, but we can face him with confidence because we live like Jesus here in this world. 18 Such love has no fear because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced his perfect love.

Now, focus on the love of God towards you as you consciously meditate on Jesus presence in your dead situation, to give you life and hope. Don’t wait for somebody to point you to how impossible your situation is, but rather speak, confess and declare to yourself; “I am loved and dearly accepted by Jesus today for resurrection, healing, salvation; I boldly declare that, I am wired to function in the capacity of the quality life, on this side of eternity”

This love is irrevocable, magnificent, irresistible good; There is nothing you can do to make God love you less or love you more. This understanding will cause you to sit back and own it when even you are in the grave of sin, you can be forgiven, healed and restored to live freely again, in the land of the living. Remember, this old Sunday school song;

Yes, Jesus loves me
Yes, Jesus loves me
For the Bible tells me so

“My friend see how He loves you and watch this same love, expel all your fears and doubts, today.  Our God is love”
