Yes, I was a Christian and a lover of God and yet was still bound and contained in a prison of a joyless miserable life! My heart bleeds for you and over millions of believers around the world who feels miserable in their Christian journey than they used to be as unsaved men. Lack of real peace, hope, direction, purpose, health and a host of precious promises wrought for us through the finish work of Christ are missing in their life experiences.
SHOULDN’T IT BE THE OPPOSITE? Sure! Heaven has invaded our hearts with the fullness of Christ and the life we live becomes a reflection of His life not ours anymore. The preacher man was not different from all of us…He preached John 10:10…He has come that we might have life and have it more abundantly with passion and zeal but his belly was full of regret and sitting at his old office is an antique bag loaded with many questions than answers (unpaid bills, lack of income, joyless congregants and the lack of growth for a Church which was celebrating 25 years in existence)
I SAY IT AGAIN, I WAS BOUND… I was bound in self works. I was a master of focusing on “my ability” “will power” “self effort” to get access to the treasure-house of God’s abundant riches. The more I tried instead of trusting, the more I became frustrated. My motivation was a work oriented mode to twist the hand of God to release what belongs to me. Can you imagine a mere man trying to bribe the creator of heaven and earth with $100 just to earn some points? God doesn’t need my hundred dollars for nothing. He loves me with a high-octane love to lavish me freely all that I need as His covenant child without me having to persuade Him with my King James grammatical jargons.
HOW COULD I HEAR HIS LOVING VOICE WHEN I AM INDULGE IN PERFORMANCE? His loving voice echoes through the sapphire gates of heaven to my performance oriented camp; “If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!” Matthew 7:11 (NKJV” How can I embrace such caring heart of a loving God who wishes nothing but only goodness for His children? Was so busy with dogmas and errors of man centered traditions. My doctrine was like a cataract on my eye…was so blind to see His goodness and completely deaf to hear His loving voice which sound like the sound of many waters. What makes you think that you love your children more than the way God loves you? My friends will be shock to see my little girl Moriah, crawling on her face begging and pleading with me like a slave to drink the orange juice in the refrigerator. She know her dad loves her and when she asks for an orange juice, she ask from a place or love and not beggarly.
GALATIA CHAPEL OF USA… Paul asks the Galatians Church…Galatians 3:5 (NKJV) Therefore He who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you, does He do it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?—
GOD SUPPLIES, GOD WORK MIRACLES AMONG US. We have become masters over circumstances. We don’t walk in fear no more. He manifest His power through our weak vessels as we place our faith in what is already done in Christ Jesus. Jesus has now become our principal focus and not in our bankrupt self. Miracles does not happen because I need to work hard or qualify through Church registry…I can receive my healing or become a conduit of healing and hope for the broken-hearted and the downtrodden. Isn’t it wonderful to know that all that God need from you and me to change every impossible situation in our life is to trust in His word and stop trying! The reason for the lack of miracles in the body of Christ is due to self sitting on the throne. We ask; “do I have what it takes to do the uncommon“. It’s not about you anymore my friend…your focus has change from your weakness to His ability through you.
HAVE YOU EVER HEARD PEOPLE SAY WITH DISPAIR; “Christianity is very difficult”? Christianity is not just difficult, it’s impossible without the indwelling presence of Christ behaving through us. Christianity is Christ plus nothing…it is not a religion of do’s and don’ts. It is the life of Christ in you. Until you understand it from that perspective, you will find yourself in total bondage to a religion of self which has no promise of freedom and hope. Nobody was better than Paul when it comes to self effort to earn the unmerited grace of God’s fullness in us. He never find the fulfillment until His foundational beliefs system was dismantled and new perspective of who he is in God through Christ was attained. Listen to Paul in Galatians 2:20.“I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I, who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me”.
Paul was saying; this is the new way to the fullness of God. Any other way makes Christianity miserable and impossible.
Joy, power, hope, faith, life, love and what have you becomes possible when we yield our lives completely on the altar of grace to plug-in to His life through faith as we come to the end of self who sits on the throne. Self is miserable my friend…I never saw any good thing in me after the Church told me; Christ will brighten your day and give you hope to live a quality life. Low self-esteem, fear, poverty, pointless life was not a quality of life! The Church failed to tell me; “It was all about Christ life in me that sharpens my mental capacity to walk in the wisdom of God and it’s not about my skill but His skill through my hands and feet”. This perspective place the burden on Christ and neo on myself.
“I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. (John 15:5)
Are you struggling with self? Is life miserable for you and t seems like the sky s fallen on your head. Don’t throw in the towel and be griped with condemnation and guilt. Jesus so dearly loves you and He is right at the door of your heart knocking.
Will you open the door of your heart and look into His face with faith in your heart and say; “Yes Lord” to all that He has already made available for you in your born again spirit? Come appropriate the goodness of God and live daily with a smile on your face, because your savior is seated in royal authority and victory with you in mind.
